If you can talk to him about everything, just put it nicely and say ” Hey bud, you have some killer breath right now haha maybe you could use some gum?” tell him it but in a joking/nice way…

If he is your good friend just tell him in the nicest way u can I think it would be better if u tell him first before some girl will tell him than he will feel stupid

Informing a person that they have bad breath can be a difficult situation to be in. If the person is a close friend or a relative, then this can sometimes ease the difficulty a little.

There are certain sites on the internet whereby this can be undertaken. These sites are designed to allow you to give across the message to the person in question whilst remaining anonymous. The recipient will never know who has sent the friendly bad breath alert. It is important to rectify a situation such as this, without pushing the person away, as it can be hurtful for some people to receive such information from a friend, work colleague, a school friend etc.
These emails are all carried out in humor, but actually get to the point at the same time. The way in which they work, is that you build a bad breath alert by selecting various text and verses. It is also possible that you
select the severity of the bad breath within your email alert. Once it is completed, you have the opportunity to edit the email and make any relevant alterations before it is delivered to the recipient. It is usually only possible to send one bad breath alert to an individuals email address during a 30 day period.
Anonymous Mails
However, one way in which you could inform a particular person about their bad breath problem, is by an anonymous email, without confronting the person in question directly. Another way in which you can inform a person that they suffer with bad breath anonymously, is to send them a card or a letter through the post to their home address. It is essential to make it as diplomatic as possible, by indicating that they have a small problem with bad breath and maybe they should seek advice on the situation, rather than simply placing in the card or letter “your breath stinks!!!”.
If you have a work colleague with a bad breath problem, then you could always leave them a post-it note at their work station. But be sure that you are not seen doing it, as you wish to remain anonymous.
Sending Gifts
Another elaborate way to inform someone, is to maybe send them a dental hygiene pack through the post, again anonymously. You could include in the pack, a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, mouthwash etc. Of course, you would only do this if it was a member of the family or a close friend, as you have the initial cost of the dental hygiene pack to lay out.
It really is never easy informing someone that they have halitosis, therefore by doing it the anonymous way, you are saving yourself, as well as the person in question, the embarrassment. And once the individual has received such a message, it is certain that they will undergo anything to eliminate the odor that they have in their mouth.

Try to tell him in a casual way and don’t dwell on it after. Tell him about this site –breath.net It happens to a lot of people and does not mean that he is neglecting his hygiene. If it were me, I’d definitely want to know! Hope this helps!
