Actually all people have some amount of bad breath. The trouble is, very few of us cannot smell our own bad breath, but we can smell the bad breath of others. Up to 90 percent of bad breath comes from the top of the tongue, mostly from bacteria that grow there and produce sulfur containing compounds that smell, that is bad breath. Some smelly foods, such as garlic, also collect on the tongue and smell. Mints, gums, mouthwash just cover up bad breath for a short time. The cure for bad breath is to brush and floss the teeth and clean the top of the tongue with a tongue cleaner. Use a tongue cleaner that has both a brush and a scraper because the smelly material that is deep in the indentations of the tonguemust be removed.
