Doggy breath is terrible and you have tried the conventional stuff so I would suggest its not her teeth but her bowel which is the result of diet, try a balanced dry dog food for a while and make sure she has plenty of water, then slowly introduce what you have been feeding her until you find the culprit. then eliminate that from her diet, remember dogs are not humans so be careful what you feed her, good luck!

Sometimes it’s in the food they eat. Try changing it… very gradually though.
They also have “listerine” – type strips for doggies that you just slip on their tongues… they can’t spit them out.
They also have a kind of breath spray for dogs… Keep brushing your dog’s teeth every day like you would your own.
Try different flavors of tooth paste… there is also an additional floride goo that you can put with the toothpaste.
Look around.
Good Luck !!
OOOHHH.. and watch that your doggie isn’t eating dog poop !!

Take her to the vet, or groomer. I had the same issue, and the vet brushed my dogs teeth, showed me how to, and gave him these gel tabs, that help with the breath.

Could be periodontal disease

I agree with iPod. You really should ask a vet, but if you don’t want to do that yet, you could order this free magazine called Drs. Foster & Smith. They have a bunch of different things for any pet you could possibly own. Well any ordinary pet you could own. They should have something in there. Or you could order something online from them at

Here’s what you can do to effectively get rid of dog bad breath
Dog bad breath can keep you from being close to the dogs you love.
But bad dog breath can also be a symptom of a more serious problem.
It is estimated that 80 percent of dogs the age of three suffer from periodontal disease — a serious deterioration of the gums and supporting bones of the teeth.
Left unchecked, the resulting bacteria can enter the dog’s bloodstream, causing infection or damage to vital organs such as the kidneys, lungs, heart or liver. That’s why dog bad breath has been the called the “Silent Killer of Pets.”
Proper pet oral health may extend the life of your dog by two to five years.
Oxyfresh offers simple, effective oral hygiene for your pet, starting with Pet Oral Hygiene Solution. This tasteless, odorless solution is easily added to your dog’s drinking water to promote healthy gums and effectively eliminate dog bad breath odors.
got to this website for stuff that you can buy to get rid of the bad breath.

I have three chihuahuas…
The food they eat is usually the first place to start.
Never feed them wet food, you want a high quality dry food….you will not find it in the grocery store.
Dry kibble will help scrape plaque off the teeth…plaque is what is breeding the bacteria that causes the bad breath.
Try to keep the people food to a minimum because that makes their breath super raunchy.
The only things that I have found that help besides a proper diet are Greenies and Speak to Me treats…
Good Luck

Check with your vet to make sure there is no underlying problem.
If all is ok, try some good quality chew toys. I personally recommend the Kong toys. They are pricey but my dogs love them, have never been able to wreck them and have perfect, strong teeth and normal doggie breath. Also look at “dentabone” type products from the supermarket or your vet.
I am suggesting these as more long-term solutions rather than a quick-fix method, though they can help quite quickly.

Chihuahuas often have bad breath because they’re known to have double teeth (they retain their baby teeth) and plaque easily builds up on their teeth and the bacteria which combines with the plaque causes their breath to smell bad. Dental problems in this breed are often accountable for other problems like heart murmurs, so it’s important that you have a veterinarian examine your dog and clean the teeth if needed. Join us here
