Why do people get offended when someone tells them they have bad breath?

It would be the same thing as telling someone their outfit was hideous- they can change that to, but it wouldn’t stop them from being offended.

i think it’s less what you say and more about yhe way you say it. nobody likes to be publically humiliated.
people get offended if you don’t like their jumper. people are very sensitive. and if you say that they’ve had bad breath, they think back to all the people they’ve breathed on and get very embarrassed. as they should be
