how do you treat bad breath?

bad breath
soldrgrl asked:

I have seen a dentist and he tells me that it’s not my teeth. I brush, floss and use a tongue scraper regularly (3-4x day) and use mouthwash. I also drink a lot of water. I think it is coming from my sinuses. I spoke with my doctor and she prescribed a nasal spray (forget the name). This didn’t seem to work so now I am taking claritin -D in addition to the spray. I still seem to have this problem. This is terribly embarrasing and I don’t know what to do. Has any solved this problem?

Always make sure you eat breakfast. If you don’t the acid in your stomach will cause bad breath. Always have mints and chewing gum available at all times.

Have you tried gargling warm salt-water? Stop the mouthwash, and gargle with salt-water for a week, and see if there’s any difference.

Go to the vitamin/herb store. Ask for Chlorophyll tablets. It helps and they’re not that expensive. When my sinuses were bad and I had terrible bad breath I used this and it worked for me. It does not work 100% but it helps more than anything else I tried.

Sometimes bad breath can be caused by having taken too many anitbiotics in your lifetime. My sister went to a specialist for this one time, along with her having break out of warts. My suggestion is to try eating healthy and if you can handle it, try a detoxifier- such as colon cleanser. Drink plenty of water. You can also try brushing with a paste that has baking soda and peroxide, sometimes bad breath is caused from gingivitis and this paste will help with it. Also gargling with salt water everyday will help, your tonsils sometimes hold a buildup of white stuff that smells just awful. You know those little white hard loogies that you sometimes find. They come from there and p-yew. So gargling with salt water will help a little with that. Hope some of this is helpful.

Try a mixture of half 3% hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and half lightly salted water. You can pick up H2O2 at any chemist (drug store), just be sure to buy the 3% H2O2 mix and nothing stronger.

Gargle the mixture in the morning and evening for 4 minutes each time around. Don’t swallow the concoction, it’s not going to harm you, but it’s not the most pleasant of tastes! The H2O2 acts as an oxidizer, inhibiting the bacteria that cause bad breath. The salt acts as a light disinfectant.

Oh and be sure to brush your tongue first as you always should do anyways!
