Tangerine asked:
Oreo, a male cat of mine, has been eating, but his ksin is yellow, i noticed over a while ago, but he just seems very sleepy and tired today and isnt moving much. My friend suggested that maybe i should take him to the vet come morning. Normally He’s a lazy bum, but comes when called for. Today he didnt come when i called but he looked at me. I was happy when he ate but im still really scared… if it was contagious the other cats would have caught it already… He’s always been funny looking and kindof stupid acting but today he’s not himself. Im really scared.. any idea what it could be? i want to know what questions to ask my vet.

Yellow skin, or yellow whites of the eyes can mean jaundice, which may indicate some type of liver problem. Be sure to tell your vet.

First take him to your vet, then ask questions once the vet determines what’s going on. It could be liver or kidney problems with the foul smelling breath (actually smells like fecal matter?).
It is only going to get worse and very fast it he isn’t treated soon.

You should take your kitty to the vet, he might have hepatitis, or he might have anemia sometimes the pale white skin seems yellowish. good luck

YEah,… get him to a vet pronto.
Sounds like somethings wrong. I was going to say kidneys.
Whatever it is that turns human skin yellow… that’s what he’s got.

Take your Oreo to the vet immediately. Yellow skin can be a sign of liver problems and lethargy may mean many things including fever. Get going now!

With yellow skin, I’m worried about liver failure. You may want to take him to an animal hospital. This could be really serious.

Hi there…because it’s so difficult to know what could be causing Oreo’s condition. His symptoms you have describe can descirbe multiple types of feline diseases possibly involving the liver and kidneys. Only a vet would be best able to diagnose and treat Oreo as well as determine if he has something that could be contagious to your other kitties. Would you please call the vet to make an appointment first thing and let them know what Oreo’s experiencing over the phone so the vet techs can decide if he needs to be seen immediately or at their next available appointment. I would certainly mention to the vet that you’ve noticed the yellow-like (jaundice) appearance awhile ago (give him an approximate date).
I hope Oreo will be fine and I will say a prayer for you and him.

It is hard to say…those symptoms are that of liver problems. Could be jaundice. But it could be other problems. I would get him to the vet asap! Just tell the vet how he has been acting and all the symptoms that you noticed…even though they will see it there. That is all you can do….he will tell you what can be done and if you can take him home how to care for him. Good luck oreo

Sounds like he is having a liver problem or something else is effecting his liver. Take him to the vet as soon as possible. There are medicines they can give you sometimes that will help. I hope everything goes well.
