Bad breath during a water fast?
Posted by admin under Alternative Medicine
blackcat asked:
What causes bad breath during a water fast. I think I heard somewhere that it is caused by acetone being relesed out of your lungs, but I can’t find that answer anywhere. Thanks all in advance.
Yes water only. This is day 16 sometimes my breath is fresh and my mouth taste sweet but other times it horrible and my tongue is coated. In the morning time when if I swallow my saliva it burns my throat going down.

water fast meaning your not dinking water or only water? only water is because your washing away all the toxins in your body and that includes good bacteria. drinking mint tea is okay while drinking only water and it will help

This is partially correct. It is also caused by the bacterial buildup in your teeth, tongue, and gums.

same prob here. I read in a book that the bad breathe will continue from day 2~up to day 16,after that, the coat on tongue is gone and all that is left is cleanness and fresh breathe.
But can we stick to day 16? I had a nine day one,and now I am eating like crazy!god help me!

Water fasts are very dangerous!! If your looking into a great detoxing program look into the mastercleanse.

Water fast can cause dehydration and dry mouth, most likely the cause of bad breath. Water is essential in washing away bacteria and leftover food debris in the mouth.
