Cures for both chest & nasal congestion and tips on how to “unplug” ears & how to stop “wet” coughs?

romantic asked:

I’ve had a cold since last week and if anyone has any like actualy remedies besides medicine to relieve my stuffiness/congestion, how to “unplug” your ears and what to do or take for my coughing???..

my coughing sounds like productive but no phlegm/sputum is coming up and it sounds like the annoying wet cough you get when you have bronchitis..

Also I haven’t had any fevers, just a stuffy nose, cough and congestion.

Also another question, sorry; should I go to the doctor or like… Would that just be a waste of time?
by “cures” i mean like house-hold cures, like the apple-cider vinegar steam thing, etc..
oh and suggestions for over the counter medicines would be great too… sorry i’m really tired and can’t breathe too well and i’m totally out of it

Well im gonna tell you what i use when i have a cold to help with congestion.

I was told about it by a lady at work.

Go buy some ” MucinEX. ”

They have several Different formulas for different symptoms.

But the stuff sure works at clearing your chest and helping with coughs.

It does cost a little more than other stuff, but well worth it.

Well if you’ve had it for a week you only have about a week left. Time is the only thing that cures a cold. Some meds will relieve symptoms as well as :
Hot tea with lemon and honey
    throat lozengers
    aspirin
But time will take care of it all………..

I’ve found that the over-the-counter product Mucinex helps with the mucus in the lungs. It seems to loosen them up so that it comes up easier. I’ve only used Mucinex, but there’s a Mucinex D which is both an expectorant (makes the phlegm come up easier) as well as a nasal decongestant – so maybe that will help.

    Good luck!
