some places have balls that are supposed to make the dog’s breath smell like mint. they look like tennis balls. you could try but it is a possibility your dog could be allergic to it so check with that first.

There are treats that help freshen breath. Look at Petco or Petsmart or your local pet store.

really bad breath could indicate a further problem within, you want to check with your local vet and make sure your dog doesn’t have something else going on with it.

Have the vet brush his teeth and let him teach you how to do it. Give him a milk bone to clean his teeth also.

If your dog is a puppy, it is normal to have bad breath.
If not, it is not normal. Check the kind of food she is eating, and take her to a vet and see if anything’s wrong.

You can help his teeth by giving him the rope chew toys. Soak it in unsalted chicken broth, and allow to dry in the oven on the lowest setting. He will try to chew the flavor out of it, and clean his teeth as if using floss. When he loses interest, in about a month, rinse/wash it by hand and repeat soaking.

You really should first have your dog’s health checked by a vet. An abscess or decayed tooth could be the problem. While you’re there, have the vet show you how to properly brush your dog’s teeth, because this is a very effective method of removing plaque (I know, because I regularly brush my Chinese Crested Hairless’s teeth twice a week). Dog biscuits, rawhide bones or the equivalent, and good-quality kibble dog food are also essential for healthy teeth and gums. Finally – and this is an easy and inexpensive way to sweeten a dog’s breath – give your dog a handful or two of washed and drained lettuce with its evening meal several times a week.
Most important of all is to begin with a visit to the vet – untreated dental problems can lead to far more serious health issues in dogs (just as in humans). Good luck to you and your dog!

Don’t just fix the symptom, find the problem. Dogs bad breath can be caused by several things. Poor dental care, bad teeth. Bad teeth /gums not only cause bad breath they can cause outer problems, even heart disease. Stomach/digestive tract problems can give horrid breath. Poor quality pet food can give severe halitosis too. That is to name a few of the problems. How long since your dog had a good check up, including dental? Are you feeding a premium quality food? check out California Natural, Solid Gold, Innove, Merrick and Wellness. They cost a little more than the poorer quality foods but you end up feeding a little less because these are not full of fillers. They also produce a smaller less stinky stool.
