Over the counter allergy pills, like Benadryl should tone down your body’s over-reaction.
Nasal decongestants are likely to cause your nose to drain…though, it can be a bit unnerving to have all of that stuff draining out of you. Don’t plan on going ;out on the town’ if you take the decongestants…nose drainage is not a popular sight to see.
All good answers.
Another option is to mix up salt and water, store in a bottle, and
ick!
pour some into the palm of your hand and sniff it up into nostrils. Then spit out the results.
The salt sort of tans the nasal passages, and they feel lots better, drainage is reduced for a time.
I’ll give you percentages of salt, water, when I get back from work if you still need them.
I have been in your situation; not fun!!
Snorting salt water sounds unpleasant but it might work (see answer above).
For a longer-term fix, you might ask your doctor for a prescription nasal spray like Flonase. It’s better than over-the-counter sprays like Afrin because those irritate your nasal passages and they work less and less over time.
