Greasy roots and very dry/split ends. Help?
Posted by admin under Hair
Skittles asked:
So, my roots are kinda greasy but the ends of my hair and the middle parts are so dry and damaged! I used to have the most soft hair even though I dyed it and bleached it a lot, as well as straightening and sometimes blow drying. And all of a sudden it’s just gone all dry. I will get my hair cut as soon as possible but are there any REAL (preferably HOME) remedies and tips that I can try for school tomorrow in the mean time? Keep in mind I don’t want to worsen the greasy roots but I also want to fix how dry the rest of my hair is.

Cure Bad Breath
Try shampooing your hair lightly. Vigorous shampooing (scrubbing) will actually make your hair even more greasy!
Next, liberally apply some of your at-home conditioner to your hair. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, then rinse with COOL WATER. This will close down the cuticle on your hair, sealing in the moisture from the conditioning treatment you just did.
Take it easy on heat styling your hair! If you’re going to blow dry, use low heat, or the “cool” setting (if your dryer has one).
When you flat iron, you must use a protectant! Try Farouk Biosilk. Lightly mist it over each section before you flat iron and you’ll save your hair a lot of damage!
