One of the main culprits is DRY MOUTH. My hubby has it. You can get it from not drinking enough water or like him it is a combo of not enought water and too much coffee. If you drink to much of another drink (soda, juice, tea, coffee etc) it washes the saliva away. When there is not enought siliva you get dry mouth syndrome.
Use Biotene Mouthwash, floss and brush twice a day. Make sure you use this mouthwash regularly and hold it in you mouth for a full minute.
It works.

Intestinal problems or just poor digestion. One way is peppermint or wintergreen because they naturally aid digestion.

plac…flossing, then brushing, and then using mouth wash help significantly. Flossing is the key though

See if you can get a tongue scraper and use it every morning after you brush your teeth. It would also help to floss daily.
If that doesn’t help, you could try adding a mouthwash.
If all those things make no difference, then the problem isn’t in your mouth. That leaves us with two things.
One – if you habitually breathe through your mouth, that can cause bad breath. When you mouth-breathe, it dries the membranes inside your mouth (so you end up with Dry Mouth, as mentioned above). Also, if you’re mouth breathing because of a blocked nose, the gunk from your nose runs down the back of your throat and can smell (yes I know, gross).
Sometimes even if you do have allergies or sinus trouble, your nose isn’t blocked 100% of the time, but you always mouth-breathe because it’s habit. Try to make yourself breathe through your nose. See your doctor about decongestants. Learn Buteyko, which will help clear it.
The other possibility is bad digestion. Do you get indigestion, constipation or any other digestive troubles? If you do, then chances are your bad breath is connected to that. Review your diet and make efforts to get your insides working properly
Good luck!
