Have you tried the vet? Could be a dental problem that’s causing the foul breath….tooth decay or the like. I would have a quick trip to the vet.

switch the dog food you are on.

Do you brush your dogs teeth, a build up of plaque is a major cause of bad breath.

Bad breath can be caused by:
-Kidney problems
-Gingivitis
-Rotted/infected tooth
-Poor diet
Get a Vet check.

OMG! if anyone has a good answer for this, send it to me too! My dog smells like he’s rotting from the inside out. People have asked who farted when they catch a whiff of it and don’t realize it’s coming from my poor doggie. Noone wants to pet him anymore because of the stech (except me, I suffer through it for his sake) We’ve tried EVERYTHING…bones, special food, the daily breath treatments he saw the vet….but nothing works!

Bad breath can be caused by a lot of things. First, could be dental disease, such as an abcessed tooth, that would need to be taken care of by yout vet. Could also be a health condition, diabetic dogs are said to have foul breath. Have the vet check him out and see if there is something going on that needs to be treated. If he gets the all-clear from the vet, those processed dental chews and such don’t work. Try raw meaty bones (get them from your butcher, beef knuckles work great). The tearing of the meat off with their teeth really gets them clean. Keep them frozen until you are ready to use them, my dogs get them once a week. You can also give bully sticks and Flossies, they are very fibrous and will also help keep between their teeth clean, plus dogs love them and they don’t break off in chunks and cause choking or digestive obstructions like rawhides and pig ears can. Also, check the ingredients in your dog food, if it has corn, wheat, or soy in it, byproducts or meat and bone meal, find a new dog food. Low quality food can be a cause of bad breath. I find that is a good site to reference when looking for a quality dog food.

I wish I could help since my current dog (2 years) has never had bad breath as have many of my previous ones. You might try changing brands of dog foods and treats. Also if your dog is out in the yard by him/herself, it might be getting into dead animals like baby birds, fallen bird eggs, gophers, etc. Most of my dogs have had awful breath after getting into dead animal carcasses. Some people actually brush their dog’s teeth with a real toothbrush and I presume human toothpaste. You also might call your local vet’s office and ask for their opinion.

Well you could try special dogs treats that freshen your dogs breath. If that doesn’t work you could also go to the vets office and have the vet see if there are any dental problems causing the bad breath.

u can either go to the vet and ask for a special mint, go buy some mints, or ask a pet stroe owner for recomendation. mostly every dog has bad breath so dont be embarased! whatever u do DO NOT give ur dog any human mints. they will make him/her sick! hope i helped!

Try going to the vet. They usually have the answers!

Definitely have it checked out by the vet to make sure it’s not a sign of something serious. If everything is okay, then give your dog things like raw hides and dental treats to chew on. Your dog’s teeth and gums will get cleaned as he chews. And dental treats like Bright Bites are designed specifically to clean and whiten the teeth.
