Is a cat just a small type of dog without the bad breath?

bad breath
chizza asked:

I read that cats were genetically identical to dogs. They are even more closely related to dogs than other dogs are. Why do we call them cats?
Also, why do cats make people shoot each other

Ever pet a cat after they ate tuna or drank milk?

Don’t believe junk that you read.

That’s as true as you reading this now. Men are genetically identical to gorillas. They are even more closely related to gorillas than other gorillas are. Why do we call them men?

    Bless your poor little heart!

    best of luck,

Sorry about this but NO! cats arent dogs!!
    THE TWO ARE COMPLETLY DIFFERENT!
different facial features, personalitys, eh they hate eachother, cats generally like other cats and dogs like other dogs.
you cant breed the two and create a catdog hybrid! PEOPLE HAVE TRIED!
sorry but this question irritated me

Where did you read that? All dogs are one species. Canis familiaris. Cats are another species Felis cattus. They are in the same order, sure they are both carnivores. but so are Polar Bears. Cats, dogs, foxes, weasels, and some other mammals are all descendants of a little weasel-like thing that didn’t get stepped on by a woolly mammoth and survived to be the ancestor of our pets. Because they have a common ancestor, they have some genes in common, just as if you and I shared a great-great-grandmother, we might have some genes in common. But I’d still be more like my brother. (This is greatly oversimplified. Go get a degree at a competent university if you wish to know the whole story)
For proof look at the paws of a cat and a dog. The cat can retract her claws and bring them out only when they are needed. The dog can’t do this neat trick. But a Mountain Lion (Felis concolor) can!
Also, cats have very bad breath unless you brush their teeth.

What? Are you tripping? Cats make people shoot each other? Or are you just trying to drive cat people crazy?
