My 5 month old puppy recently started getting REALLY bad breath. Should I be worried?

Jaspersmom asked:

His food is dry but we recently started adding water to it so he slows down as he eats. He is teething and his molars and a few canines have dropped recently. Also because he started obedience school a few weeks back we have added moist treats to his diet (natural balance, roll-over) as incentives during training. Should I be worried (ie… worms?) or is this just bc of the softer food building up?
He has been through deworming meds in full and has all his shots.

Finding A Home Remedy For Bad Breath

Cavyl Stewart asked:

There is probably nothing more embarrassing than having bad breath. It is something that will definitely affect your social life and even life at work. Can you imagine talking to someone who is making it quite clear that your breath is offensive? Or can you imagine someone offering you a mint, obviously because your breath is more than enough to take? Getting rid of bad breath is actually quite easy and you don’t always have to go to a dentist if it can be controlled. Trying a home remedy first is always best before you spend the big bucks on something medical.

What Can I Do About Bad Breath?

Before looking for a home remedy for bad breath, determine first if it is indeed your breath that is disturbing others. Try and observe how others act around you when you are talking. They will more than likely take a step back while you are talking or try to avoid you altogether. But don’t let this get you down. The next step is to change your diet.

You probably have been eating stuff that has been leaving rich bacteria in your mouth. After all, bad breath comes from the bacteria from food in your mouth as it breaks down the proteins around it. If this doesn’t help, you may want to brush and floss your teeth more often and also gargle using a mouthwash after every meal.

This is so that you can destroy the bacteria that have gathered in your mouth, especially around your tongue. For the best results, you may even want to try washing your mouth out with baking soda that you have lying around your pantry. Baking soda actually helps to clean teeth. Just don’t try to use it all the time.

What Other Ways Can I Use To Prevent Or Control Bad Breath?

There are other home remedies for that you can use to prevent bad breath from forming or getting rid of it if you have it already. One of the methods is to chew your food properly and drink a lot of water in between meals. This will help your stomach to digest food properly and the water will also help to wash down all food particles so that they do not collect too much in the mouth. Still, you will have to brush your teeth to get rid of the bacteria that do collect.

Another home remedy for bad breath is to rinse your mouth with a glass of water and the juice of half a lemon after every meal that you have at home. The lemon can kill some of the bacteria in your mouth. It works just the way a mouthwash does and perhaps even more effectively.

Lastly, you should also make sure that you are healthy and that you have the right vitamins in your body. Try taking calcium supplements, Vitamin C, and Vitamin B-complex to prevent bad breath bacteria from forming. These are just some of the home remedies for bad breath that you can try first before you decide on going to the dentist.

2 Bad Breath Remedies – Tips To Select The Right One

Abhishek Agarwal asked:

There are few things in life more embarrassing than bad breath. Everybody afflicted with this condition is searching for that one elusive cure which can cure them of their condition and make life a lot easier to live. Unfortunately, remedies are not exactly straightforward.

If you are one of those many souls searching for a cure, the place you are most likely to find that cure is most definitely a medical professional. Your physician can give you a lot more personalized information on which remedy would suit you the best and help you choosing in one as he knows your body much better than anyone else. In case you need a cure immediately, here are a couple of them. These may or may not work for you but it is important that you actively search for the cure that would suit you best to ensure that all future encounters with other people is not an embarrassing one and you are in your comfort zone.

1. Drink Water!

The reason for bad breath, excluding improper brushing and flossing, is probably a dry mouth. In case you don?t drink enough fluids, it?s a good bet that the reason for your foul smelling breath is the want for moisture inside your mouth. Drinking enough water is vital for good health, with a bad breath only one reason to make sure you drink enough.

In case you find it difficult to drink water as such, try to eat a lot of fruits. Fruits are full of water and are a guaranteed way of getting more fluids into your body. This is an ideal way to start changing your diet which is the second of the remedies already mentioned.

2. Change your Diet

Eating a lot of meat instead of vegetables and fruits can also lead to a malodorous breath. Staying off high protein meat and eating more fresh food is an ideal remedy for those who already brush and floss regularly and drink enough water to keep their mouths moist and get the required amount of fluids for their body, but still suffer from bad breath.

Next time, skip the juicy steak and opt for a healthy salad instead. It is one of those rare bad breath remedies that actually work. You won?t know if it is effective till you have tried it out for yourself. A bad breath is not as difficult as most of us think it is to cure.
