“Why do I have bad breath sometimes?”?

bad breath
bettyboop asked:

Periodically I get bad breath. I floss every other day, I brush my teeth twice a day, I brush my tongue and palette once a day…and still periodically I get bad breath. It is a tendency for my teeth to harbor foods easily and I am prone to cavities but I went to the dentist and she said everything is fine. What can it be? Also, I usually get bad breath right before my period.
Oh, and is bad breath hereditary?

  1. Sinus problems can cause bad breath. And of course certain foods like onions, garlic, etc. Also dry mouth, so drink lots of water.

  2. It is probably coming from your intestines. What you eat can sometimes cause bad breath. Try using acidophillus capsules daily or eat lots of yogurt with live active cultures to see if this helps get your digestive flora healthy again.

  3. lotsa women smell funny around their periods…
some men like it, some don’t….you could have stomach problems, that will give you bad breath, also what you eat gives you bad breath. (carry mints, chew gum, get some disolving sheets…take some antacid.)

  4. Bad breath is usually thanks to bacteria right at the back of your tongue- gargling mouthwash usually sorts the little f£$kers out though. I recommend Pearl Drops- even if you don’t smoke, it’s designed to shift tar and nicotine, so it makes short work of bad breath.

  5. Hon, it is hormonal! We women have things going on in our bodies that cause the strangest odors. I sometime bathe twice a day and still feel like I smell! The same thing with our teeth. I gargle everyday several times to remove any food residue. I use Scope Cinnamon and it has a really pleasant taste and is not too spicy like some of the mint ones.

  6. foods and medicines can cause bad breath , explore that one, also try using an alcholol free mouthwash that helped me. and if you have chronic sinus problems this leads to bad breath, dont know why it would come right before period unless its from the hormones in your body changeing. and you might just have a chronic and comon condition called halitosis!
