How can I get rid of bad breath?

bad breath
htamboer asked:

I brush my teeth 2-3 times EVERYDAY. I get up in the morning, brush my teeth, eat a little bit of breakfast, brush again and go to school. I brush my teeth AND my tongue. I know everyone has bad breath when they wake up, but my bad breath always comes back while I´m at school and I feel really self conscious. Are there certain foods I can eat or toothpastes I can use that will keep the bad breath away all day?

  1. This question sounds so familiar. I answered the last one with this solution. Try a product called Smart Mouth. You can search the name and it will tell you about the product. I use it and it works great.

  2. Chew gum, even if you are not allowed to in school, do it discreetly so that the teacher never finds out.

Or put in a mint in your mouth and let it melt naturally.

  3. Flossing also helps. Sometimes tonsils hold onto food in little scars and pits that can contribute to bad breath. Also, gasses that rise from our stomachs add to BB. Avoid lots of garlic and onions.

Over all, I’m sure your breath isn’t as bad as you think. Try Listerine or Listerine strips. Chew sugar free gum, or get some sugar free breath mints to boost your confidence.

  4. Brush you tongue when brushing. Then use a mouth wash. Yes, clean between your teeth. Some foods like unions (spelling?) leave an odor.
See if you have an infection with your fingers or flose. Massage your gums with a finger to help them remain healthy.

  5. Maintain proper oral hygiene (brushing, flossing, using mouthwash and scraping the tongue). Take particular care not to have dry mouth or be dehydrated as this can cause bad breath as well. The foods you consume can also indirectly cause your bad breath. About 90% of bad breath causes come from the mouth, but the rest are from underlying health problems such as Acid Reflux, Post Nasal Drip, Pneumonia, Diabetes and others. If the bad breath persists, get a dental appointment to know the true source and have the proper treatment.
