Would you tell somebody that their Breath smelled bad even if you thought they would get offended?

I guess its not what you say but how you say it. But sometimes now matter how you tell them, they still take offense to it. Sometimes people that dont want to say anything, will just sit their and let the person whos breath smells keep talking, meanwhile, the person thats listening nose is getting hit with an unwanted smell. Then you offer them a piece of candy or gum, some will take some and catch a hint, and some will turn it down.
How many people can really be honestly enough to tell somebody their dosnt smell good?.

Im dating this guy who awesome but lately he seems to ALWAYS have stinky breath. He goes to kiss me and i have to turn away trying to NOT offend him. I always chew gum and brush when i know im going to be around him. I think it common courtesy. I dont know how to tell him without making him feel really bad. Please help!!!

i’ve had people offer me mints and one time someone offered me gum but i wasn’t close and they were also eating some themselves. i’m very confused… One time at my desk someone turned back and we started talking (she acted completely normal like she smelled nothing) and five minutes later after that she said randomly, “someones breath is kickin!”. Was that just to be funny? Or was that a hint?
No one ever avoids talking to me and I have alot of friends so am I just thinking to much?
