what will help my stomach dissolve foods?

i have a stomach ache that has been hurting for almsot a week for no reason. it goes away whenever i eat but then it comes back. a freind of mine said my stomach was just trying to dissolve something. what can i do to make the pain go away.
do not say anything about going to the doctor because my parents dont have the time and i dont want to interupt them if its nothing serius.
and i also took some pepto bismol and drank ginger ale which seems to be helping but i just know that the pains will wake me up at night again.
please dont say anything about going to the doctors like i said beacuse i dont want to worry them and we dont have much money and i want to hear old remedies and tips that you guys use.
