I sprinkle dried parsley on the food of my cocker basset hound. She has dragon breath. I mean it is TERRIBLE. The parsley really does help. Plus, it’s not adding calories to her food.
Then you can brush their teeth.
The main thing to do is to talk to your vet about WHY they have bad breath. Is it that they need their teeth cleaned or is it diet related. Figure out the problem first. Then you can maybe eliminate it.
Usually bad breath is a symptom of something else.

We use Nylabones NutriDent treats. Our MinPin gets one a day and gets really excited when he sees me pull out the bag! They also help with tartar removal.
Next time your at the grocery store look in the pet section or sometimes Ive found them in the check-out lane they are called “Yip Yaps” the come in an altoid shaped tin. They are small bone shaped mints for your dog. They worked for my little guys.
A dental cleaning from a vet would be the way to kick-start it. After that, giving your dog raw, meaty bones (look up raw diets to learn more) will help keep teeth clean. Dogster.com has a great raw diet forum that will help, too.
