What can I do to help prevent bad morning breath?

bad breath
Smacks!!!!! asked:

I brush my teeth twice a day and have tried scrubbing my tongue as well, but it doesn’t seem to help. My breath smells foul in the morning and I don’t know how to make it any better.

  1. What you should do is eat some Cardamom seeds. That will make you breath smell good and also you will feel fresh. You can get it at any asian store I think.

  2. Listerine is good. Brush RIGHT before bed and use listerine…that usually helps me. Or get toothpaste that has peroxide and baking soda..,helps kill germs a bit better..which are the cause of bad breath.

  3. Alot of our bad breath comes from bacteria on our tounge, scrape or brush it that will help alot.

  4. That seems like a problem that should be medically treated. Go see a dentist, you probably have gum disease or something.

  5. Get up early and brush them again or just get used to it.
Bad breath is normal after a good night’s sleep.

  6. I wish I knew the name but there is a mouthwash for morning breath. It is in a white bottle. Sorry.
Do you use mouthwash at night?
Or you may have some tooth decay.

  7. Eat healthy…sometimes what you eat affects your breath…especially dinner…since that the last meal…it sits on your stomach and then goes through the digestive process in the night as you sleep. Depends on your diet, it could be creating acids that makes your mouth smell. You say you brush twice daily…is one of those before bedtime?…if not make it then.

  8. Overnight, bacteria grow in the mouth and they are responsible for “morning breath”. The best way to deal with that is to have perfect dental hygiene (twice a day is not enough). Always brush your teeth after each meal, and floss at least once a day. You can also try mouth wash, once or twice daily after you brush your teeth. If all this fails, keep an apple on your nightstand. Eat the apple as soon as you wake up; that will take care of the morning breath. It works for me.
