7 thoughts on “how long does sugar free gum prevent bad breath?”

  1. It loosens and causes you to swallow the bacteria clinging to the inside of your mouth, which causes bad breath. Since it doesn’t have sugar in it, then it isn’t providing food for that bacteria, so you aren’t adding to the problem while ridding yourself of it. Bacteria will grow back but not as fast as with sugared gum, and how fast it does grow back depends on how unclean the mouth was/is, how much food for bacteria growth is in the mouth.

  2. gum in general helps prevent bad breath becuase the chewing encourages the production of salivia

and the fact that is sugar free helps becuase too much sugar gives you bad breath
becuase the bacteria in you rmouth consumes the sugar and the bad breath is there excrement

  3. There is a misconception in taking bad breath fresheners or ?breath candies? to counter bad breath, it even worsen the situation taking those products. Bad breath fresheners, mint candies or ?breath candies? usually contains sugar. And we are all aware that sugar attracts bacterial plaque that causes bad breath. They only take effect from 20 minutes to an hour but it varies with each products.
There are also other factors that causes bad breath or halitosis, but taking breath freshening products won’t stop bad breath. Serious bad breath or halitosis can be prevented with proper oral health hygiene. Brushing and flossing can prevent bacteria to build up in your mouth especially in between your teeth and gums. Regular visit to the dentist for check up may prevent from getting into serious dental problems and don’t take sugar-based breath fresheners, mint candies or breath candies, it will just worsen bad breath.
