Why do people with bad breath turn down a piece of gum?

bad breath
LVgirl asked:

don’t they know they need it? Whenever I offer gum or mints to these stinkies, they decline. Should I…

1. Demand that they take it?
2. Push it in their mouths?
3. Give them a dentist’s business card?
4. Politely suffer?
5. Suggestions?

  1. Because they’re morons, and can’t take a hint. There isn’t much you can do about it. They may get a hint if you cover your nose and mouth whenever they get close.

  2. As they do not know the reason behind why you offered.
Now if you tell them (like I do) I think you really need this right now. They tend to get the hint. Then they are shocked to know they are an offense and just take the gum. Then they usually thank me cos they obviously did not know.
It’s only to put them in the best light, then people having to avoid them, why not help a person out?

  3. try to tempt them by chewing a gum and then offer them the gum and if they say no so Politely suffer.
    Thanks

  4. 4. Politely suffer. If their breath is bad, stand farther away from them when talking with them.

    5. They could refuse gum/mints for any number of reasons–they don’t like them, they have crowns and are worried about sticky gum/biting on a mint loosening them, they’re diabetic and can’t have sugar, they have some type of underlying medical condition that causes bad breath, and they already know that gum and/or mints won’t help.

  5. If it’s someone u can be honest with tell them the truth.Otherwise say offer the gum or mints ,when they say no thank you say I think you should. Most people don’t want to have bad breath and they don’t know they have it.
