Adam B asked:

So I have bad breath and i’m trying to work on it. I brush twice a day and use mouthwash twice a day and I still have very bad breath!!!! Help? I know brushing your tounge can help and I think I need to brush farther back, but I can’t because anymore and i’ll touch my uvula. Is that too far back? Can anyone help with bad breath in general?

  1. bad breath usually emits not from the mouth but from the intestines/stomach. there are pills you can get that you take and they eliminate bad breath totally, i forgot what the pills were called but my friend use to take them all the time, his name was bret, but we use to call him breath, then he started taking the pills which u can get OTC, and they worked so well.

  2. Dont go to far back or else thats kinda bad. Theres not really a certain way to eliminate bad breath but just keep doing what your doing and it should probably go away.

    Hope this helps

  3. You have to remove the deposits on the tongue and according to that you have to clean the tongue. You donnot have to go that far to touch the uvula. For more information on this you can read the following very informative article from a dental website

  4. We welcome your question because it goes very well with what we are trying to convey to people. You are exactly right about the need to clean your tongue on a regular basis. Bad breath comes from the bacteria growing and also from various food particles that smell which attach to the top of the tongue.
OraBrush is specifically designed to clean the tongue. It has bristles like a surgeon’s scrub brush. They are individual, short, pointed, flexible, soft and very effective in removing the stuff on the tongue. In addition the head is wider than a toothbrush. This allows you to reach further back on you tongue without touching the top of your mouth. If you stick out your tongue as far as you can while cleaning you will not “gag” as much. 5. I would also check with your dentist to see if your gums have any infection going on. The bacteria that cause that disease smell very bad. If you have tartar under the gums that you can’t see, you can brush all day long, floss tongue scrape, swish w listerine and that smell will not go away! You have to have that tartar physically removed by a professional. Also, if you have a tooth that is decayed, that can smell bad. Huge tonsils with pits can also create a sulfuric smell. The best toothpaste and rinse I have found for breath is Crest Pro Health. Breath RX also has an amazing tongue scraper and it can be washed in the dishwasher.

Also, sweet-smelling fruity acetone breath could be a sign of diabetes.
