My good friend suffers from bad breath in spite of good oral hygiene practices. What can she do?

bad breath
izzidaisi asked:

She brushes her teeth when she wakes up, before she goes to bed and after every meal. She uses a tongue scraper, mouthwash and flosses. Her dentist has given her many things to use, but there the bad breath persists. She said she has no medical problems. Sometimes her breath smell worse when she brushes it, it like placing perfume on bad odor. She is depress all the time and don’t like to socialize. She is a wonderful and attractive person that people like, but once they smell her breath they keep a distance

  1. It’s coming from her stomach acids. There are pills you take to help that. Tell her to see her doctor.

  2. She should go see her doctor and exlain all of this to her. Maybe she could also try minty chewing gum??

  3. Simple chronic halitosis.

Many people suffer from this, but there are now options available to help treat this. Suggest to your friend to visit her doctor or dentist for more information on these treatments.

  4. Ask her to take an opening dose to begin with; That’ll clear her stomach and hopefully her breath will get better.

Also subsequently, she should include a lot of fiber in her diet which will keep her digestive system good.

I too had a similar problem and has really improved with the right care.

  5. halitosis is the right answer. Good oral hygiene is always a plus but your friend could be suffering from periodontal disease…its not her teeth – its her gums. She should talk to her dentist about this…and get her teeth cleaned ever 4-6 months.
