I recently met someone breifly and we have been talking on the phone for the past two weeks and he wants to meet me again(we only spent an hour talking when I first met him), and he might think it was a one time thing. I am attracted and excited to get to know him but I fear that he will lose interest once he realizes I have chronic bad breath. I have good oral hygiene and beautiful teeth but I am always stressing which makes my mouth dry…I am very paranoid about my breath and getting close. So i’m worried it will scare him away, also, I am a twenty six year old virgin and I really want to lose it to him…but i’m not sure if it will happen because of this.
I wanted to add that yes he does know that I am a virgin, and yes if he turns out to be a good guy I am considering losing my viriginity to him if things go well. I haven’t been waiting for marriage or Mr. Right, I just want to get it over with now. I don’t want to end up a 40 year old virgin, it’s bad enough that i’m 26. Also, this is not a made up story, believe me, I wish it was. Thank you to all the helpful responses, it is very appreciated 🙂
Would you date someone who had chronic bad breath but was a good person?
lily s asked:

If he loves you this shouldnt be a problem.
Have you seen a doctor hun? If you haven’t you should, it could be a bacterial problem, and theres possible there could be medication for it.
But yes, I think he will date you anyway. Keep up the good oral health pratices, and bring some mints and gum in case you start to feel self concious. Good luck!
Maybe you should go to the dentist or an internalist? That must be so frustrating for you. We are the same age and I have some issues with my appearance as well, but it would be really awful to have to deal with that. Have you ever researched on the net to see what causes it?
So…after BRIEFLY knowing this guy you want to lose your virginity to him? Sounds like you have a bigger problem than bad breath…
Honestly, if you are worried about your breath, see your doctor. Sometimes chronic bad breath can be a sign of a medical problem. If it’s just you, then chew gum when you’re around him.
I don’t think he will worry about your breath. Just throw some tic tacs in your mouth and you and him are ready to go lol.
Try chewing gum when you are around him, that will keep the mouth moist if that is the true reason you have bad breath.
I think the fact that you are a 26 year old virgin might scare him off more (hey, it’s a perfectly respectable choice so don’t misread here). So what if you have bad breath. People have flaws. In fact make that the ice breaker. Dry mouth the issue, then perhaps you are chronically dehydrated & need to ingest less sugary drinks & diaretics like coffee or tea & drink more water. That might help with the issue.
First, I wouldn’t be so quick to give up your virginity. If you have kept it this long then why give it up to a guy you have known 2 weeks?
Second, you are probably just paranoid about your breath. Just make sure you brush your teeth, tongue & floss!
DRINK WATER….I’ll help alot =]
First, tell him the tuth, if he doesn’t like it don’t go out with him. It’s not good if a boy likes you except for one thing, that will mean that he’s not a good guy for you. He won’t always be there for you, he’s not a kind gentlemen! IT’s ok. You’ll get a guy someday.
Of course, but there are steps you can take to combat your bad breath. I would ask your dentist and see what he recommends (if you don’t have a dentist, I’m sure there are places you can go online to get help – I don’t have the time atm to search. lol)
But being a good person will trump bad breath if you found the right man.
Good luck!
ummmmmmm i have no idea,i probably would but just give them a little hint that they need a breath mint.if i were you i would just keep a pack of mints with me where ever i go.but make sure not to get the good tasty
ones that r like candy and dont actually work.i normally use like the minty altoids or something.maybe you could even get one of those little listerine sprays.
gooood luck!!!!
I wouldn’t unless I sold breath mints for a living and needed a new client!
Have you talked to both your doctor and your dentist? This issue could actually revolve around a health issue. And a date is not the only one who notices your breath. You have employers, friends, your future mother-in-law (haha). Get on top of this!
That could be a tough one right there. I am not saying that because I wouldn’t date someone with chronic bad breath, I am saying that because bad breath is kind of superficial but if a person is shallow, it could be an issue for them.
Here is some advice from personal experience. I myself do not have chronic bad breath, in-fact I am pretty anal about my teeth and my breath. I was once hooked up with a girl, I talked to her on the phone and saw pictures of her on the computer and we had some good chemistry. We finally met and it was all that I expected it to be except her breath was kinda tart. I let it slide because we met in the evening and we both had long days so a little sour breath could happen.
We met the next day early in the after noon and that breath was still there and I had talked with her prior to our date. I knew she had taken a shower and freshened up (which included brushing teeth). The date went well and we wound up spending the weekend together and each day the breath was there. I didn’t know what to say but it was getting at me because I wanted to be intimate with her a lot. So, finally on the fourth day we were talking and she asked me what were some of my hang ups and I named a few. Than she just came out and said “I have the worst breath sometimes and I can’t help it”. Than she said I know you could smell it. Now in my head I wanted to be like “nooo nooo, I didn’t even notice” but than I thought about it and just said yeah.
We both laughed about it and after that I was comfortable around her to address it when it was pretty intense. It turns out, she didn’t floss nor did she brush her tongue and that helped a lot and it was very tolerable. I am not saying it went away but what made it all work was the fact that she addressed it first and I was comfortable enough to talk with her about it.
All I am saying is you need to be comfortable enough to address it and have confidence. I am not saying to jump right out and be like I have bad breath. It seems that you both like each other, just choose a good time and put it out there. I will give people credit, we can be accepting with a good bit of stuff when given a chance. Don’t be scared and think yourself into a frenzy.
Stay sweet and just be you ok…
Good luck
That’s pretty gross-you should look into some herbal remedies-there are lots of things you could be taking orally to help you with your problem-really.
And why would you want to lose your virginity to a guy you technically don’t even really know yet? What made you decide to lose it to him of all people? Let’s be logical here. This almost sounds like a made up story.
**barring any health problems where bad breathe is a side affect** (read: see your doctor & dentist), the best way to virtually solve & prevent it is to BRUSH YOUR TONGUE everytime you brush your teeth. look at the color of your tongue. if it’s not a natural redish pinkish color, and it has a whitish film over it, then your breathe is probably not very fresh, if not completely bad. over 90% of bad breathe germs are on the tongue. this is a proven fact. this is why you see those “tongue scrapers” at your local drugstore, now. but, you don’t need one of those. a good, old fashioned toothbrush works just as well, if not better. then, follow by gargling w/ a mouthwash that’s approved by the american dental association. those that earn that approval are better at killing germs cuz they’re proven to fight gingivitis vs. the ones that are not. also, after you eat, if you’re unable to brush, always rinse your mouth out well w/ cold water. not only does this help to get rid of any stray food particles, it helps to keep the temperature of your mouth down which will the slow the growth of bad breathe germs. and, always keep a small pack of listerine breathe strips in your pocket. these go right on the tongue & help to kill germs & freshen the breathe. stay away from the dark colored ones though, e.g. blue. otherwise, you’ll be walking around w/ a blue tongue like a kid that just ate a popsicle. try these steps out. you’ll notice an immediate difference.
if he loves you yeah
honey,at all times-either have a whole stash of breath mints, etc or some strong flavor candy, and keep popping them in your mouth….he will never no:)…….
well theres really nothing wrong with being a virgin especially if you are a lady, so dont get all caught of losing it, but the main thing is whey are you so worried about your breath, go to the store and buy shi`t loads of tic tacs, that should solve the problem
Just use mints or consult a doctor about your bad breath. I’m sure you can definitely do something about it (at least for the time being until he really loves you so much that he doesn’t care about your bad breath). Everyone has imperfections and you’ll soon notice his. But as much as the whole “if he loves you, he wouldn’t mind”, your bad breath will really get in the way of getting to know each other better in the begining and that’s a normal reaction, not because he’s a bad person or anything.
