Kitty has bad breath and throws up occasionally?

bad breath
Nera asked:

My male kitten (5 months old) has always had bad breath. Vet prescribed something that didn’t help much (thinking that bad breath was caused by worms). He throws up occasionally (only after eating dry food-always the same brand) and still has that bad breath. I gave him some probiotics but that doesn’t seem to help. Tonight I even heard his stomach grawling! He is otherwise acting normaly, he plays and purrs a lot. Does anyone know what’s going on??? Thanks!

  1. he’s having catnip withdrawals.. they should’ve gradually dulled his dosage : /

  2. my cat is the same. the reason lt throws up is they have a hairball that needs to come up

  3. I am a cat lover, and have had situations that have forced me into learning more about cats and their health. Your cat doesn’t like his food…. even if he eats it, it’s not working for him. The best food for all animals is the closest thing to a natural organic diet. Go to a feed or pet store and buy this, “Innova for Cats, Made from Raw Ingredients.” That’s the best, next to raw organic. You’ll be amazed at how long it lasts, and how much your cat will love it.

  4. try dental cleaning, bad teeth and/or gums add to bad breath
also try another vet who may listen to both you and the wee kitten

  5. Such a young cat should not have bad breath. Has a vet checked out his teeth or mouth. See another vet. If feeding him a certain brand of crunchies makes him sick, then don’t feed him that kind. Switch to something else. My cat was allergic to the red dyes contained in some of the dry foods. Check the labels. Make sure he has plenty of fresh water. And give him some cat-lax stuff for hairballs. Can get from vet or buy some at Wal Mart.

  6. Brush the kitty’s teethies, with a light cheap toothpaste so it wont be so shocking, make sure she drinks lots of water, maybe give her a bath, sprits cool water on her mouth around her nose and close to her lips, she is getting depressed, and im sure the kitty kittens will be ok.
