My cat have been living with me for years. She hadnt got any breath problems until she got sicked one day. She refused to come home and she starting to get really dirty, smelly and skinny. But after a few weeks, she’s getting quite well and very active. She came back and i gave her a nice warm bath to kill all the germs. That time i noticed her bad breath. But i tend not to worry and ignore hoping it would disappear later. But the smell hadnt change a bit. she’s in a very well condition except for her breath. Everytime, after i’ve done showering her, she would start to licked her fur because she doesnt like me brushing her with towel or even hair-drying her. In less than 3 days, her fur starting to smells back. I cant send her to vets because i dont really gets my parent’s approval for keeping her. So, i had no one to help me especially for paying the cat’s medicine later onwards. So, please..does anyone have a very useful and cheap suggestion??
How to fix cat’s bad breath other than sending them to the vets?

Better check her mouth, her gums and tounge should be a healthy pink. She may have a tooth or gum problem. Smelly breath is often a sign of a rotten tooth or infection in the mouth. In that case, you HAVE to get her to the vet, no matter what. If you cannot properly care for an animal, which includes being able to take it to the vet, you should not have the animal. Sorry, but its not fair to her.
Take her to the vet, and ask about a special cat food that will help keep her teeth healthy and bad breath at bay. Such things exist, you know. I got some for my dog, and i’m sure they have it for cats. Good luck =)
She’s going to need to see the vet. Bad breath can be a sign of teeth problems. Either she’s got a bad tooth, or one is abscessed. It can also be a sign of serious illness, such as kidney disease.
The reason she immediatly grooms herself after you bath her is to re-establish her own scent on her. Cats do this all the time. The bad smelling fur is probably caused by her grooming. It’s transfered to the fur via saliva.
To cure your cat from bad breath, you?ll need to remove the buildup of tartar. There are several cat foods out there that are designed to reduce the buildup of tartar, many containing enzymes that will literally dissolve it. You can also give your cat treats as well, as many of them will help eliminate and prevent tartar. If the buildup of tartar is bad, you may need to have your cat?s teeth professionally cleaned. Once the tartar has been removed, the bad breath will go away.
