Brian L asked:

my puppy compared to others seems to have a different and bad breath, i dont know if it might be a trait or food diet. is there a healthy way to keep her breath smelling better than it is now that won’t cost as much money?? we currently feed her royal canin for puppies, treats, milk and water.

  1. Seriously ALL puppies have bad breath… never heard anyone use the expression puppy breath?

  2. That’s puppy breath. It will go away in a few weeks. If it smells bad/infected take your puppy to the vet and see if her teeth are ok.

But really, it’s probably puppy breath and it will go away on its own.

  3. Greenies really help! And my dog loves them! However, be warned my parents have a mini doxie (she’s 9 now) and they have never been able to get rid of her bad breath no matter what!

  4. well theres nothing much you can do but
brush her theeth with dog toooth paste of corcre you can get it a pets smart..

  5. my dogs get the runs from Greenies.I go to the health food store:buy chlorophyll a natural product. for horrible breath.
for a mini daxie, they need only a couple drops(its a liquid)

  6. Hi Brain,
Brush her teeth they have dog tooth paste at any pet store. I do this with my dogs and I use a electric tooth brush.. I started brushing their teeth when they were puppies. This does help and their teeth will be healthier and always give them milk bone this helps clean their teeth and help with healthy gums..Never give a pup or dog can dog food very bad on their teeth.. I hope this help you My Friend.

  7. Thats a puppy for you! The good news is that there are special & healthy bones for puppies that will help reduce bad breath and as an added bonus they help keep healthy teeth & gums. Another idea is to buy a dog tooth brush & tooth paste… but sometimes it can be tricky to actually get the puppy to sit still long enough to even get the tooth brush in. Lastly some genius just invented dog breath mints! My dog loves them and I do too because I don’t want to suffocate myself when I hold her due to her breath. Haha… All of the above can be found at a pet smart, etc. good luck!
