chico asked:
In school, i have this partner who sits next to me in math and his breath smells terrible and i feel like throwing up everytime he goes in my face, i literally hold my breath everytime he talks to me. It smells like rotten fish and just pure garbage and BO mixed….it’s just nasty! Can anyone give me ways to let him know he has terrible breath? i’m not a big fan of confronting people so i was wondering if there is an alternative.

lmao! tic tacs…use a sling shot XD
get out a pack of gum and chew one yourself and ask if he wants one too. ur being polite and generous and it might help the bad breath.
Ask him if he wants a mint or maybe the whole box of mints! Or just politely tell him his breath smells and ask if maybe he could back up a little bit.
Or ask the teacher if you can switch partners!
Buy him some breath mints and tell him you really like them and thought he might too. Say the girls seem to like them too. You use them too and maybe he will.
Good luck.
you should buy some gum and chew a piece and offer some to him, see its that simple hopefully he will take the hint good look!!
Well, rotten fish, garbage and BO are diff not a good combo-
Yes offer him gum.
Go find a new type of toothpaste at the store.. put in your backpack and so him like while you are going thru ur backpack as if u stumbled across it and say oh this is really good… or something like that
i don’t know…
personally i would just offer him gum.
and if he refuses tell him he needs it cus you are sensitive.
Or just tell him you have a sensitve nose and say u can smell everything… ppl’s breath… hoping he will ask you if you can smell his and if he does … that is your door open to tell him its smells bad
say bitch’u stank!
Yes, the alternative is to move away from him. He might have a problem, and telling him won’t solve it. I am sure he already knows, and if he is talking directly in your face, he probably doesn’t care. There is never a way to tell someone that, so don’t. It will be awkward, and potentially really hurt his feelings if he has a problem. I told someone to get a piece of gum before and it like traumatized them for life. I would tell you to be brutally honest, which always seems to work better than the “Soft touch”, but if that is not your personality you won’t get away with it, and it will just be very very ark ward. So just move away, and let someone else tell him.
Like the other folks here said, offer him gum, tic tacs, what ever…..all the time. If that doesn’t work….then you may want to slip him an anonymous note in his bag letting him know he has bad breath nicely. make sure someone else writes it for you….or maybe you can type it up and print it so the he doesn’t recognize your hand writting.
An alternative would be to let him know you have a “Personal space issue and it makes you feel more comfortable if he gives you more room”
Please keep in mind that bad breath might be a medical problem that your partner has no control over. If this is a long term partnership and it starts to effect your work/grades I would let your teacher know.
.
Be honest and discreet. Tell this person the truth with the same privacy you would want someone telling you. He may have a medical condition or a bad diet. Either way, tell him the truth in private.
Get out a packet of gum or mints, have one yourself and then pass one to him.
Works every time 🙂
Share some mints with him in class, regularly. Randomly, after a while or at a birthday or something, wrap up a couple of boxes of mints and be like ‘ i know how much you love them so i though i could get you some!’ The alternative is to slip them into his bag… your choice
Listen you need to just tell him, buddy you have bad breath. I don’t know if your aware of it but it could be a symptom of some sort of stomach disease. I am telling you because I care about you and don’t want people to talk about you. Tell him not to take offense but you are concerned that others may be offended also.
Try the mints, like the other answerers suggested. If that doesn’t work, try to swap partners… failing that, you might have to say something!
yo yo yo!
I can say it is pretty difficult to tell a person, a friend in particular so, I think it’s better to keep on offering him/her with gum everytime to maintain a “better” breath, beause, everyone had a bad breath at some time. be aware, it is “unpleasant” to tell some one that he has a bad breath.
