Last year, I got a bad abcess in my chin from grinding my teeth.
And at that point, I started noticing that once I brush my teeth, it stays fresh for about 10 minutes. Then my mouth feels dry and I have a bad taste.
Could this taste be bad breath?
i’ve been so self concious, spending hundreds of dollars on mints and gum.
The abcess is still there, but I have no pain.

Not only will it cause bad breath, it is very dangerous. There is bacteria leaking into your mouth, that is what the bad taste is from.
You can very easily get blood poisoning, a bad bone infection, even kidney failure from the toxins. An abcess in the mouth is nothing to let go.
I had one from a filling that I had gotten 17 years before, the dentist never recognized it was there, it went into the bone. I had to have major surgery on the bone to remove infection, and was hospitalized for 7 days because the infection got into my bloodstream. It was the worse pain I have ever had, (and I have experienced childbirth, LOL)
