You should brush twice a day, and use a toothpaste with baking soda in it. They might not taste the best but baking soda is a natural odor absorber so I’m guessing with it being in the toothpaste it helps. Also, most mouthwashes have a lot of alcohol in them which actually dries out your mouth and can make bad breath worse. Look at the labels next time you get some and pick the one with lowest alcohol content. Definitely keep brushing your tongue. Halitosis can also come from the stomach. Try upping your water intake and eating foods that are not difficult to digest. Eat more yogurt, it has good bacteria in it to help your digestive system. Ask your dentist if they have any other tips for dealing with bad breath.
I dont think that what he was looking for was chewinggum! Thats just terrible to waste his time like that (besides the very good advice from: Twistedsheets)!
Check out this company (should be very good, but havent tried their products, so I dont know):
You should brush at least 3 times a day and use Listerine in the morning and night ( and if you take a naps during the day, brush everytime you wake up). They have tongue scrapers available now because most of the bacteria in your mouth resides on your tongue. You can go to any Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, or online store and purchase some. If the halitosis (bad breath) persists then go see your dentist and specify whats going on. Make sure you have no rotting teeth either (especially wisdom teeth), that could be the cause as well.
eat some onions!
Gargle a cup of lukewarm water mixed with salt or half a lemon juice.This is best done before going to bed. Chew parsley leaves,which are sure to keep your breath fresh. Put a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothbrush top it with toothpaste, and then brush your teeth. More useful remedies at
paying close attention to good oral hygiene such as proper brushing and flossing can help eradicate bad breath. but take into account, bad breath treatments will also depend on the cause of it.
dry mouth, cavity, gum disease, medications, poor oral hygiene, smoking and stomach related illness are the major factors that can cause bad breath.
whatever the cause is, it is best that you consult a dentist to help you figure out the cause and to get the right treatment. good oral hygiene is always important to keep the mouth healthy, clean and fresh like proper brushing and flossing.

Although your dentist may not approve of the idea of trying to treat bad breath with a natural remedy, the fact remains that it may still be very effective. Because we are inundated with so many foods and products made with harsh chemicals and laboratory creations, sometimes the body rejects modern medicine and develops an allergic reaction. However, because bad breath can be very embarrassing and create social anxiety, the fact remains that the problem must be treated. If you don?t like using products made with chemicals or simply have allergic reactions when using bad breath treatments created in factories and labs, maybe it is time that you try some natural remedies for your halitosis.
While many natural remedies are not as ?potent? as many of the lab creations available on most shelves for treatment of bad breath, this typically only means that they may take a little longer to be effective. When trying to find a natural remedy for your bad breath problem, there are two basic qualities you are looking for:
* Boost immune system performance
* Help fight/control anaerobic bacteria
The single biggest cause of bad breath is anaerobic bacteria. These harmful microbes literally live in the crevices and cracks of your mouth. Feeding upon food particles and even dead skin cells, these microbes also produce waste known as Volatile Sulfur Compounds. The three most common compounds known to be responsible for a bad breath problem are:
* Dimethyl Sulfide
* Methyl Mercaptan
* Hydrogen Sulfide
These compounds are considered volatile because they become gaseous almost immediately and thus produce the odors associated with bad breath. Saliva naturally helps control the anaerobic bacteria because it helps wash away these sulfur compounds every time you swallow along with the food particles that the bacteria feed upon. Plus, enzymes within saliva help produce antibodies that destroy the microbes and help maintain a reasonable population in the oral cavity.
The trouble with many ?scientific? lab concoctions used in many bad breath products is that they tend to cause dehydration which lowers the amount of saliva available for bacteria control. In addition, chemicals tend to cause a number of other side effects such as lesions on the soft tissue within the mouth. Plus, for bad breath in pregnancy, using natural remedies reduces chances of chemical side effects harming the fetus. For these reasons, you may very well be better off seeking bad breath treatment using a natural remedy, such as:
* Cinnamon Bark – boil this ingredient in a cup of water and use as a natural mouthwash that will help control bad breath without causing dry mouth like products made with alcohol
* Gargle with salt water – helps remove the sulfur compounds and reduce the bad breath smell
* Chew Mint or Parsley – chewing will help stimulate salivation while the mint or parsley helps sweeten breath
