My 5 month old black lab is teething. i’ve found two teeth in the last couple of days. Her breath smells TERRIBLE like rotten vomit or something! I only noticed it wihtin the last couple of hours. I checked her mouth and it looks normal. she’s had nothing to eat but her kibble and a puppy biscuit. Someone told me that this is normal when teething but I couldn’t find anything online to back it up. My vet is closed until Monday so I can’t ask them. Does anyone know if this is true?
I forgot to say that she hasn’t been outside unsupervised to have eaten something nasty. And I don’t think her breath is caused by unclean teeth. I brush both of my dogs teeth.
Do puppies get bad breath when teething?
impossible asked:

I don’t know for sure, but my guess would be sure why not. Their teeth are falling out and bleeding. They have a bloody wet nasty puppy mouth. I think it is totally normal for them to have bad breath.
It is a dog, all dog’s are gonna have bad breath unless you brush their teeth.
She should not have a bad breath at all..at any age.Maybe a tummy upset or she may have found something that was dead and eaten it.
ok well this is what happens when they are born the puppie only drinks milk from its mother which smells nasty!!!!
it has nothing to do with teething
just when it
it will pass!!!!
yes they do have bad breath when teething its normal my dog when he was a puppy his breath stinked and it still does.
well my puppies breath stinks really bad too, so maybe it is because of teething, not sure. They make dog toothpaste and toothbrushes or breathmints for dogs.
yes for a while their breath will smell like they got into a septic tank or ate a dead monkey that had all ready been eaten. I have a 10 yr. old dog but i remember that odor and will never forget it. I still don’t no if it’s normal but my dog is healthy happy and beautiful now so don’t get to worried about it.
