My dog has bad breath. How do if fix this?

I can’t take him to get his teeth professionally cleaned because he’s so old that the stuff they use to temporarily put him to sleep would kill him at his age. I can’t brush his teeth, either. What can I do to improve his breath?
I can’t brush his teeth because he won’t let me. Every time I manage to get the brush in his mouth, he licks the toothpaste off…

Okay, so everyone knows that morning breath is normal but how about when you get very little to no sleep? Sometimes when I stay up 18+ hours, I can tell I have bad breath. Or if I stay up for a long time, then only get 1 hour of sleep before I have to get up for work/school. All day long i’ll have bad breath. It seems the only way to get rid of it is to get the full 6-8 hours of rest. Is that normal?

My BF told me that i have really bad breath all the time, even after i brush my teeth. He says that it smells like ammonia. He cant stand this odor. If i don’t get fixed, he wont kiss me or sleep with me in the same bed. He thinks that is disgusting. We have decided to not seeing each other temporarily until i get fixed. I am making a appointment with my doctor. If my doctor gives me some treatments to cure my bad breath, i would be very happy. But my problem is how to let my bf know that i don’t have bad breath anymore? How can i start the conversation. I think it’s kinda awkward. But i just don’t know what to do after i cure my bad breath. Can someone help me ?

I am 15 female. I am healthy and I get enough sleep. Foundation makes it worse, and I dont really want to cover it up.. I want to get rid of it.
I also have worn glasses from ages 6-14, so I dont know if that’s part of it or what.
