I’m not sure, but when he gets older if you feed him raw carrots it will freshen his breath.

I don’t know but my pups had some stinky skunk breath when they were tiny and drinking momma’s milk.
have you ever smelled their food? also, look at all the other things that they get in their mouth. puppies eat and lick everything.

May be it has something to do on what the puppy eats
it is a mixture of being weaned from nursing mother and a natural odor to all puppies as he grows he will lose this smell. Some options to lessen it are denta bones which brush their teeth as they chew on them…. please be very carefull in feeding your puppy rawhide as it may cause some severe intestinal blockages that may require surgery. Milk bone and other hard crunchy biscuits can help with odor of you puppies mouth, plus age. Never feed your puppy pig ears.
as a matter of fact i love the smell of puppy breath!! especially when they are first born…other wise when they dont have puppy breath anymore give them mints…they are actually good for the dogs…
i have never noticed that it smelled bad…it smells like puppy to me, and that is Heavenly! I would be disappointed if they smelled any other way…

Sometimes it may be dental problems associated with teething, losing teeth, teeth that do not fall out but should (rotting in gum).
many ppl think that it’s ok for dog’s breath to smell bad but it’s not.
I thought the breath was sweet. Fresh clean teeth; best the breath will ever be! Maybe you should change food—well, you can’t change the “momma” part! Mine have always had carrots. Maybe that helped freshen.
puppy breath is the sweetest breath on earth!. pure and clean. before food makes the “pipes” rotten.
Stuff they eat probably……. give your dog those breath freshners for dogs. They work!
there’s so many answers, for one is hygiene, you should start brushing your pup’s teeth, there’s rubber starter’s ‘toothbrush’ coz just like human babies, they need those!….
second is what kind of food they eat,…some dog food smells bad…and i think it’s also in the breed,…some breed are really smelly!….
they smell bad cuz they r licking bad things….but carrot a day will help…!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because they do not brush. and eat for days together.
puppies love the strangest things, everything has to be tasted. kinda like kids. everything goes in the mouth. does this taste as bad as it smells. they quickly learn, yech. return to the favorite flavor food, you know! the market is still looking to produce butt flavored animal feed. theres millions to be made. until then the worst smells still intrique.
