Brendan asked:
I was recently diagnosed with mononucleosis, and it is secreting a foul odor from the infection location. What is a good remedy for this awful breath I have been experiencing?
If anybody can empathize, keep in mind my throat catches fire when irritated and my tonsils feel like they want to rip off every time I swallow, so something harsh like Listerine may be out of the question.
i do all the normal brushing like any other person

Try chewing on parsley or lemon peel.
if you want to banish bad breath you must learn to have a good program of dental hygiene like proper brushing and careful flossing. you can use an all natural oral care product as a part of your oral hygiene to keep the mouth clean and healthy as well as with fresh breath. for more tips in eliminating bad breath visit
To the above person, The bad breath during mono is usually the result of a bacterial infection in the throat , NOT poor dental hygiene.
Listerine wont cure it I’m afraid, but it certainly can help cover the smell. The best thing you can do is to continue brushing very regularly, with aid of Listerine if you want. And keep a pack of Listerine pocket packs with you to help cover up the smell for when you have to talk to someone.
You may have Strep throat so get tested for that, if you are positive for Strep, they will prescribe an antibiotic that will kill the bacteria which is what is causing the bad breathe. If you are negative for strep, you’ll just have to wait it out.
I know how awful it smells and was didn’t talk to anyone when i had it. I could only describe it as the rank of a nursing home x 100
